Overview
e-Certify is a web-based e-certificate management and verification system built during an OJT/internship at DICT Quezon 4A. It automates the generation, distribution, and authentication of certificates issued for the office's capacity-building workshops, webinars, and digital literacy trainings.
DICT Quezon 4A's certificate process was entirely manual — staff generated and distributed certificates by hand, which was slow, error-prone, and had no built-in way to verify whether a certificate was genuine once issued.
Designed and built an MVP with the following core features:
Admin authentication and account settings
Training event management
Participant import via CSV
Automated certificate generation with editing support (images, signatures, QR codes)
Email workflows for certificate delivery, verification, and password reset
Public-facing pages and QR-based verification flows
Tech StackBackend: Laravel 12, PHP 8.2+
Frontend: Livewire 4, Blade, Tailwind, Vite
Database: MySQL 8+
Testing: Pest + PHPUnit
Local dev environment: Dockerized (PHP 8.2, MySQL 8.4, Composer 2.8, Node 22) for consistent collaborator setups
Delivered a fully functional MVP that automated DICT Quezon 4A's entire certificate workflow end-to-end — from admin-managed training events and bulk CSV participant imports, to certificate generation/editing, automated email distribution, and public QR-based verification. Test coverage (Pest + PHPUnit) was developed with AI assistance, and a Dockerized environment ensured consistent setups across collaborators — replacing what was previously a fully manual, unverifiable certificate process.
